802.11n: Not quite yet

I dropped in on the Wi-Fi industry story this weekend. The Wi-Fi Alliance, which makes sure all the manufacturers' chips/routers/cards/what-have-you are interoperable, put out some data with In-Stat, a research group, showing overall growth in wireless chipset shipments.

It's the economy, stupid

With help from gracious colleagues, I put together the main economy-focused story for the wire today. I spent a lot of time yesterday and today fumbling on the phone with equally gracious economists and manufacturing executives. Apparently, manufacturing didn't do too well in November.
